I've been wanting to get a Chameleon for some time now but after reading about them I see there is a lot of work involved and you really have to know how to take care of them which doesn't bother me. I just want to try to get some information before I get one so I make sure I do it right. I would like to get a veiled chameleon. I've read that cage size matters depending if they are babies to adults. Can anyone suggest a cage setup that would be good? I know babies would need smaller cages so which cage would be good for juvies and adults? I would like a complete kit if available so I know it has everything I would need. I'm looking for a setup that is budget friendly and has space in mind. I'm not looking for a monster cage or the best of the best right now. Just something to begin with. Basically I'm just looking for a starting point because there is a lot of information out there and one site may suggest one thing and another site another so I'm just looking where to start. I know I need to do some more research and I will get as much information as I can before I get one because I don't want to get one and not be able to take care of it properly so any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hey and Welcome to the forum!! I would definetly suggest checking out the different sponsors they have alot of good info on their websites and most of them have package deals that give you everything you need to start. For a juvenile i think the best cage would be a 2X2X4 cage set up. Have you decided on whether you are going to get a younger cham or an older cham? You will obviously need a much smaller cage than that haha.

I would like to start off with a baby cham. I've looked over the basic husbandry and general care and it does have a lot of information. I guess I'm just trying to figure out what setup would be good. I like to figure out everything I need and how to properly take care of it before I decide to get anything. Im trying to cover all the basics first. I've seen the 22 item small starter kit from www.chameleonsonly.com/chameleon_cages_starter_kits.htm and it says its good for raising chams from babies to adults. Would you guys agree and does that mean the cage is good for just babies and when they get bigger I should get a bigger cage because that wouldn't be a big deal since I would have everything from the first cage. What species would be considered a small species? I dont really want a big cham and Im not sure what species are considered small or don't get real big.

Kammers

I ordered my cage from Kammerflage Kreation and got there "Kit" and will say it is a quality and complete product. The few items that you need to complete the kit they will gladly tell you about over the phone. From what they told me it would be acceptable to raise to adulthood, and I must say the animal I purchased from them has been healthy and hungry. They also put the health of the animal before anything else, to me the most important thing. Be warned, this is an addictive hobby though, in less then two months I already added an automated misting system, a thermostat, and purchased a female panther, I love it though!

Kammerflage is great!

If you are going to go with Kammerflage Kreations AKA Chameleonsonly... you will be very happy if you get thier set up kit and Cham for them they gaurantee the Cham for 45 days... and they are great people if you have any questions or concerns just ask them but when you order they will email you a ton of care sheets and set you in the right direction for a healthy and happy Cham!! Both my guys are Kammer Babies and they are doing great! And thier set ups and everything you need to get started!
