Common Chameleons Found in Pet Stores

Hello,
What are some Common Chameleons that ya'll have seen in Pet Stores? I'm going to Petsmart soon, and I was just wondering what all I could expect. I'm really hoping there isn't one there, because I don't know how I'll make room for it, plus, then they'll think people want them and keep buying them. So, thanks for the information!

Well for the most part they keep Jacksons and Veileds. I haven't seen anything else at mine.

I think everything they have HAS to be CB. I've seen young veileds, an adult veiled, 6-12 months for Jacksons. The only thing good about PetSmart is that they check them out BEFORE they sell them... but it's DURING the time they have them that sucks.

Hmm. Ok. Thanks. I was kind of preparing, possibly reading about the type, just in case.

The only way I'm getting one, is if it is Gravid. If it is, I'll get it so it doesn't die, as well as their babies.

I don't believe they keep more than one in the same cage, at least not around here.

I've seen some with 2-3 Jacksons before. But, I didn't have Chameleons, so I wasn't interested.

Oh geeze, my pet store by my old house had some crazy chams, and for the most part they were in OK conditions, ive seen them have mellers, quads, rudis, jacksonii xanth, fischers, graceful, flap neck, senegal, panther, veild, deremensis and once a carpet.

Pretty cool to see them, except for the poor mellers, it was in bad condition.

I wish there was more variety down here. For the most part it's just veileds and the rare jacksons. Glad to see earlier at the show Vegas Chad had a carpet, just one though.. But it looked cool. :D

My pet store..has baby panthers, baby veileds, Juv Veileds, WC Carpets, Pygmys, Adult Montum Chams...And some other species that I'm not to familar with..

Local store has had vieleds often, panthers occassionally, and others rarely. Luckily they all sell very fast so the less than ideal housing doesnt have time to kill them - the store does try, but .... its a business, and $$ is more important than perfection.

Very muchly agreed, ive only seen paws N jaws where i live have chameleons - just veileds - where i got mine from, and now i know that they keep theres so unhealthily..

And the one that they had there (Based on me looking at pictures) was probably around 3 weeks old... VERY tiny... I could hold her on my pinky...

Was quite Sad..

You need to talk to them about their setups then like Lizardlover has done with his local petstore.

the only local petstore that i go to and is worth going to is a "reptile house" and it has chams like these. they are not a bad place but its not ideal. they have them in tall glass and mesh combined cages. but its the best that i think ill ever get around here. i think they get all these stuff from lllreptile tho.

*also i heard from someone on here that goes there that they get their panthers from the kammers, but i really realy doubt that. i also heard that they dont sell to pet stores and i dont no why they would but im not sure.

Thanks guys! I didn't go yesterday, but I am today, I'm just worried about them having them together, and there being a ton that are gravid. But, I want to see how stupid their answers are, if they have Veileds. Every time I go to Petsmart, I see Jacksons. But I don't know what type, so I don't know if I can put it anywhere. Just because it might be hard to regulate temperatures in my house because I have other lizards that require desert type environments.

Please, Please don't buy a cham from Petsmart-it only encourages them to get more. The only way I would take one from them is if they would give it to me to save it. I repeatedly see dead chams in one around here-you would think they would learn. :(
