Commercial gutload

Hi lovely people
Would you use a commercial gutload like bug grub or repashy superload as well as a product like reptivite for vitamins and supplement or does the commercial gutloads have enough supplements contained in them.

I only give reptivite twice a month, but would give bug grub as a gutload regularly?
I also dust a little calcium on the locust at every feed is poss.

Then also give fresh fruit and veg to the locust and bug burger to the morio's

Thanks want to make sure I get the balance right for my Cham, forget the kids they can eat what they want lol

I would still give the multi-vitamin twice a month (assuming panther or veiled) regardless of the gutload, though it may not be necessary. I would rather be safe than sorry.

The gutload alone isn't enough to compensate for the phosphorus in the insect exoskeletons - crickets and mealworms, even gutloaded, are still essentially "negative" calcium. The amount of calcium you'd have to gutload them with to balance it out would kill them.

A gutload makes the prey items more nutritious than just being essentially a phosphorus filled husk, but is not enough to meet all vitamin/mineral needs. Additional dusting with calcium and a multivitamin would still be necessary, although maybe not as often.
