Comfortable?

So on a few different occasions while being handled, my cham has pooped on me...I now see the signs and quickly get to an area better than my arm for him to do his business. My question is, is he comfortable or am I literally scaring the ____ out of him? A friend said it is because he is comfortable but didn't know if anyone else had an opinion. Some animals will defecate as a defense mechanism when they are threatened. Thoughts?

My only thought is that this makes it really easy to get a fresh sample for the vet if needed.

My theory is that he wants you to put him back in his cage (which, I always do when threatened with a chameleon about to poop).

I had a quad that always did that...and he also pooped in the cage every time I cleaned it...so maybe its like marking territory?
