Colour change

Hi there.

My female ambilobe has recently started showing these colours (pictured) and im not sure wether she is just going through some colour changes or possibly before she becomes gravid or what.

They are either gravid or receptive colors.

Do you have an egg bin for her?

Yeah I have a bin set up for her with sand. Ive had it in a while now after a last scare. The sand has dried out since but ill moisten it again if I see her digging.

You should moisten it now, before she starts digging, so you don't interrupt her.

Doing that could cause her to stop, which can lead to egg binding.

Is it at least 12 inches deep?

Thing is she is in a glass exo terra tank and the humidity is already at 60% if I moisten the laying bin it'll bump the humidity upto anything from 80-100%

Yeah its 14inches or something. Cant remember exactly but it is over 12.

She has been drinking alot more than usual, cpuld this be a sign of being gravid?

It would be better if you put her in a screen cage.

Panthers need the ventilation.

Besides, she cant dig a tunnel in dry sand, it just wont work, and she could get herself buried or become egg bound if you do it when she shows signs of digging.

The exo terras have screen top and vents near the bottom, plus its beside a Windows which ia open most of the day anyways for a good air flow.

Ive just moistened it there.

Her basking temp is 81f and highest ambient is 80

I would honestly just get a screen cage. it's better in every way. Sorry I've never dealt with females so idk about your other questions. And being by a window isn't necessarily a good thing, drafts/change in outside temperatures make it harder to regulate the temps in the cage.

I have a temp gun plus various probes throughout the cage. Ill be getting a screen cage after the Christmas period or just free ranging, I havent made my mind up yet.
