He's nearly 7 months now I think? I never knew if he had a name, but mine don't........he's looking real good anyway :D

Yup, just a little over 7. His name is Casper. Finally decided on it :p

btw, he has been climbing on his cage a lot recently, i don't know what the hell he is trying to get at but he's climbing on it so much a few of his claws have broken off. He's just so heavy. I don't know why he insists to crawl on the screen (especially when i've spent so much $$$ furnishing his cage )

he almost falls all the time because he thinks he can climb it! but he can't! he clumsily stumbles up and down it. scratches at the bottom corner like a dog and returns up north. oi, hopefully he'll figure it out soon

Casper probably wants out to do some free ranging if you have a safe area for a free range. Veileds hate being caged and often become territorial and aggressive. Also where he looses a nail can become infected so keep a close eye on that. If you can not allow him to FR then I would highly advise lining the inside of his cage with plastic chicken fencing like in these pictures so he'll have something to hang onto besides the screen.

Mine climbs on the screen a bit too, and scratches a bit in the corner but hasn't broken any claws....what kind of mesh is it?
And how big is your cage? Have you just recently moved him to a new adult sized one, because if so then he will calm down a bit soon I'm sure :)

Nah, it's not the cage size. He's been in a 2x2x4 since he was 4 or 5 months. I think he just wants to explore. I'll definitely get some mesh, thats a good idea - and i did some reading on the claw loss. I've been keeping an eye and they seem fine, no swelling. He's just ridiculously persistent lol
