So I was wondering about chameleons and their coloring and from what I read they get bright(fired up) when they are angry or stressed. King louie tends to get his brightest(besides when he fires up all the way) when he's sleeping. its not really a concern I was just wondering if anyone else has seem this or of there is any reasoning behind it. Also sometimes one side will be lightly colored with his yellows and oranges and the other will be dark greenish with darker bars rather than his light blue when he's fired up. I got an awesome pic of him showing some color that I'll post tomorrow.

Normal. Your sleeping lizard is not controlling its pigment cells. Lighter one side, darker the other is normally related to thermoregulation. Lighter coloration reflects heat, darker absorbs more readily. Aka a cold lizard will darken itself on whatever side faces heat, then switch sides, with the warm side becoming lighter. A warm lizard will display lighter colors.
