Cold Outside!

im taking my chameleon to the vet today, and its only 35degrees F outside. how can i transport her without upsetting her too severely with the cold. i have a small carrier made of cloth that is mostly entirely enclosed except 2 small mesh windows on each side of the carrier and the car would ofcourse be very warm. would a few seconds of cold in transport from the house to the car be too upsetting? any suggestions?

Wrap the carrier in a blanket to keep the air inside warm, or put the whole think in an insulated cooler, put the carrier in a box with some warm water bottles, etc. There's a lot you could do to keep her temps fairly stable for the ride. She's not going to suffocate in the 3 minutes it takes you to go to the car, so you can get creative. 32F is very cold and it could be a shock to the system.

You're welcome! I know it sucks for us to go from a nice, toasty inside to that kind of cold, so I can't imagine that for something that is cold-blooded.

When we had to take our cham to the vet in Dec and Jan it was very cold, we just wrapped him in a warm cloth and then put him-inside my coat and he would be warm and sleep the entire trip.....but he is very loving and likes being held.
