Paul was an angry veiled. He attack anybody that open his cage. When he was a baby (2 mo), He bite me when I tried to take him out of the deli cup when he arrived.
I immediately take him to the vet as soon as he gets comfortable in the cage.

after 2-3 fecal test (done within 2 weeks), we found out that he has coccidia and nematodes.

Then the coccidia fight for 9 months begin!
Albon cause him to stopped eating altogether. After discontinuing the treatment (per vet's suggestion also), he finally regain his health back. Ever since, he has been living with coccidia and his immune system has been great in keeping it under control.

I was afraid that sooner or later, Paul will not be able to contain the coccidia population. So, we finally get him Ponazuril. 3 continuous treatment and followed a week after that.
The drug does not affect his appetite like Albon does.

What an improvement. He has been cleaned ever since. In fact, i notice a personality difference now. He turn up to be the nicest veiled and he seems to trust people more. When I open the cage to get him to sun, he will move and slowly approach my shoulder.

Here he is posing to camera. Just took it this morning.

Great little story... I am very happy to see such progress being made in the ability to keep chameleons healthy easily. I think that between Ponazuril and the new Reptiaid that chameleons (+other herps) all over will be much more happy AND bug free. :D
