Cobalt - Yellow Nosy Be?

Thanks for chiming in Jim! :) He's grown a little over the summer, he's definitely bigger than he was now, he's just taking his time. So I'm not too worried, he's eating well and that's what counts.

Have you ever seen a little Nosy be have this kind of pale yellow all over? That's why I shared the photos, I hadn't and I thought it was really curious.

I have seen quite a few come up this way. I would expect him to still change a bit before adulthood, but some just take their time. Some settle into final colors before they are half grown, and others need to be adults at 16 months of age before they are prime.

Like a box of chocolates, it would seem :)

I have observed this trait in my Nosy bes. Some of my nosy be boys were light green to yellow when juvies. By maturity, they totally lost the dark barring and the "True Blue" really started to show through. The only remaining solid yellow left on my boys is on their lips. When my mature males are around another male and a female they will turn Ice blue w/ a combination of a slight yellow tint in the background color. Got to love the Greaseball line Jim has! They are awesome animals!

Interesting, I didn't know it was somewhat common. Aww so I guess he'll grow out of it. I guess it'll be interesting to see how he matures in the coming months, and see if he gets more blue.

LOL .. thanks Todd, but in all honesty, even the ugliest panther is awesome :)

FWIW, when I eyeball juvie Nosy Be chameleons, I always err towards the ones having the darkest bars as having the most future potential. Never let me down.

your nosy be looks just like mine did at that age,i bet he`ll will be bright blue when hes older
