Clumsy Gravid Female?

Hello! My peretti female is definitely gravid and has been so for over a month. I have the pot with the soil in it as directed, but she keeps falling off of branches in the tank. She has been falling up to 15 times a day!!! Sometimes she will climb back up via the foam back of the tank but sometimes she just stays on the floor of the tank (we have a 36" tall x 36" wide x 18" deep heavily planted exo terra with a carpet flooring).

Tonight, My husband even saw her sleeping on the floor and put her in an elevated spot where she fell back to sleep. I have seen her fall, and she loses her grip very easily. She wasn't the most graceful before she was gravid, but this is ridiculous!

Is this normal for gravid females?? How long do they stay gravid before laying the eggs?

Thanks in advance for your help!

This is definitely not normal. It could be a sign of Metabolic Bone Disease (MBD). You might want to start by reading this thread.

I don't have experience with this particular species. I found this article. It says the gestation is 4-6 weaks. http://www.chameleonnews.com/05FebCoraggio.html

If this is in fact MBD, it is a calcium deficiency. Her being gravid would make treating this more difficult. I advise getting to a vet as soon as you can.

Thank for the response. We've been supplementing with calcium almost every day for 2 months and she doesn't appear to have that bending of the arms in the pictures. We have a really great vet we can take her to tomorrow...

MBD was just a thought, she would not necessarily have bent arms in early stages. Probably not the case here. I would do a search of the website of past threads. May give you other ideas.
