Closing His Eye(s)?

The other day one of my basking bulbs blew out so I replaced it with a red heat bulb for a couple days. The same day I switched it he started closing his eye and moving it around while it's closed. I changed the bulb back to a regular daylight bulb like before. It's been a few days now and he's still closing it, sometimes he looks asleep. Any thoughts on the issue? I can't tell if it's both eyes, usually where he hangs out he's only got one eye facing me.

Its possible the amount of infared light that the red bulbs give off was irritating his eyes. but if he is continuing this behavior there could be something more going on. closing their eyes during the day is a sign of illness.
Fill out the help form that is stickied in the forum. Could be something simple to change with your husbandry or require a vet visit.

Interesting... your chameleon is doing the same thing as mine. Although mine looks like it has something stuck in his eye... been doing more mistings and using eye flush/ointment. Although.. no really sign of improvement. Do you use a mister or mist by hand? What is your humidity percentage?

I must by hand and the humidity is usually around 50%-60%
