Closed Eyes During the Day

WOW, this is all really helpful information, thanks a bunch guys/gals I really appreciate all of this. For such a small animal they take alot of work lol.

Here is my situation however, I work from 8:30am - 7:30pm by the time I get home it is around 8pm, so I normally would mist them when I get home. I leave alot of food for them in the dish that they have in their cages. Now I mist them with a pump mister I bought from Canadian Tire for like 8$, works surprisingly well. I mist them in the morning and when I get in at night for about 5 - 10mins or until they stop drinking and head for the basking light.

Now I have 3 chameleons 1 3 yr old Maroansetra Male, 1 4 - 6 month Ambanja Female (she is the one closing her eyes), and one 2 - 4 month old Male Tamatave. They all seem to be healthy with the schedule I am currently using. However I like all the advice I got on here and would like to follow this with turning the lights off at say 6:30 since it is dark here by then. But how would I keep them misted? I can't afford to buy 3 mist timer get-ups, and my fiancée doesn't get home until 7.

That is my pickle now *sigh* I don't want to damage the females egg cycle by leaving her in constant summer mode. Any suggestions? Oh and I can't really get anyone to come in and do it as my closest neighbour is pretty far lol I live in the bush. Can anyone think of anything?

I want to do what is best for them, and I am certainly not getting rid of them I like them way too much to do that.

Personally, I never mist late in the afternoon.....say after 4:00. Maybe you can get a cheap or used mister system so you could mist in the morning and again early afternoon. Jann

Shaner,

Short of spending money for something wet on a timer, I'm not much for a solution there. I think that I mentioned though that the biggest seasonal factor in creating the natural interruption in egg cycling seems to be temperature, not photo-period. Now, if we can find a timer for the temperature ... hmmmmmm

three mist timer? to have three mistings in one day? there are timers you can buy from intermatic that can have 7 on/off times programmed. Try checking into that.

Sorry I guess I should have proof read before posting lol.

I meant three misting systems on timers...my bad.
