My little guy just started doing this i've had him back in oct. and hasn't climbed to the bottom since now and was wondering could something be wrong with him or maybe he just wants to get out of his cage? other than that he seems fine eats and drinks regularly temps are usually around 80 has a live plant and acouple vines in his cage with no substrate and the cage is an all screen cage.

What species? How old and what size is he/she? What size is the cage? Do you have UV light on the cage? How often do you dust its food?

Is he just climbing/moving around the cage or is he sitting at the bottom? If he is just moving/climbing around then there is likely no problem.

he is a veild had him for about a month so far and he is like 5" long from head to tail. his cage is 27-1/2" x 30"x 16 all screen cage. I have a UV light and a basking lamp(it was a complete kit from lllreptile.com). I dust his food lightly with reptical without d3 everyday and with d3 only twice so far(since I've read they should only be given it twice a month).

he usually climbs around the top on the vines or sits in a basking spot, but the past couple of days he climbed down to the bottom and sat on a branch I have in the cage looking at the bottom like he was going to jump down onto the screening. its probably nothing, but just wanted to see if anyone else's cham has ever done this or if there is something I should watch out for if this isn't normal?

It doesn't sound like anything you should be too concerned about. My chameleon goes down to the bottom on occasion to check things out but he never stays down there. Just up and down sometimes.

Once In a While Mine Goes To The Bottom

As long as he does not stay on the bottom and does not show any other sighs of illness you have nothing to worry about
