My boyfriend and I were at lowes looking at some plants for our cham...we were walkin down the isle with ropes...we were wondering is it a good idea to use a nylon like rope for our cham to climb on? cuz if we could we were gonna string some from his cage to this new shafflera we just bought?

My cham is a year old and has been climbing this since he was about 5 months old. I don't know how old yours is.

Cool thx. ya i think our rope is too small for him to climb on...n by the way ur cham n beautiful

I use a manilla rope that's also pretty thick. They seem to like it, and I like that it looks rougher because it blends into the "jungle" a bit more :D But yea, I say go for it. And if it starts looking moldy from misting just replace. It's a lot cheaper most of the time than getting long amounts of those biovines.

Olimpia thx ya ill look at that too...cuz i dont want him to not be able to climb on the rope cuz its too small...and ya ur very welcome carol, and our cham is gonna b 2 n Feb.

I lived in the south suburbs about 40 minutes south of the city in a town called South holland. You may or may not have heard of it but I know where Normal is for sure.... The home of ISU! I think????

lol ya i havnt heard of it but my boyfrined has heard of south holland...but to go bac to the rope question where could i find that Manila Rope? or is there something else wer could use...cuz my bf is sayin that we could use just plain old bown rope but i kinda want to know more about the manila rope

Olimpia mentioned the manilla rope. If you like the rope I used in my pic I posted you can get that at home depot. It comes on rolls and you just tell them how much you want and the measure it out and cut it for you. It is super sturdy.

awsome thx...n thx my bf is tryin to keep everything real n the cage n doesnt want alot of fake things...but ya thx that helps out alot

have you guys used the bio vines? They are fake but look pretty real and hold up really good against the water.

ya we have some n there now but it expensive so were trying to find something thats a little more cheaper n also looks real...if i may ask what do u have n ur cage for ur cham?

He can probably climb a narrower rope just fine. You can also tie knots in it every so often to give him variety and, if you get wild, braid it to give him something really thick to deal with. I think it's good for them to have thick and thing things to grasp.
