i was wondering how often i should clean kiwi's cage and also should i use a certain cleaner? should i take everything out or just the bedding? any info would be great. thanks!:D

You shouldn't have bedding in the first place. It can cause impaction issues if they eat it. Most members clean it every month with spot cleaning once a week. The plants should be washed with soapy water and rinsed completley. The bottom should be cleaned with a mild 1 part bleach 10 parts water solution and rinsed completely. Anything else you feel should be cleaned, like the rest of the cage, can either be cleaned with the bleach solution or the soapy water if bleach will kill it/destroy it.

thanks so much! what should i use for the bottom 'bedding' stuff? right now i have like a dirt something or other that grew in water. im guessing thats not good for him? any recommendations?

Either nothing or paper towels for the bottom of the cage. Anything else could possibly lead to accidental ingestion and impaction or is just a breeding ground for bacteria.

Fo,

Removal of any dirt, coconut fiber, wood chips etc. will make cleaning as simple as wiping the bottom of the cage. It is probably best to remove any droppings when you see them, and do a cage bottom wipe down once a week. This should help minimize odors as well as bacterial growth.
