Christmas treats

So it's been two days since Christmas passed, and I was very pleased to be able to celebrate it with my girl Indy (veiled chameleon) and my two leopard geckos, trout and mango sticky rice, so to kick start their day I had given them each 2 horn worms and watching them devour them brought a smile to my face, even though to them it's another day, but that's not the point, our exotic friends also need that extra special day just like our cats and dogs get treats on Christmas day, who else treats their babies extra on certain days?

Green Grasshoppers, Mantis, and Stick Insects are favorite treats for my chameleons here in my greenhouse. There are other feeders that are relished by chameleons too. The old CIN opinion was that an insect that is the green in colors looks more appetizing to a chameleon. I think the philosophy is that if the insect is naturally more camouflaged the edible and tastier the insect.

Oh absolutely!!! I just picked up some hornworms and silkworms but the silkworms will be the added staple feeder alongside the crickets (Dubia roaches are illegal in Canada)

It took me like 6 months before my chameleon would even try to eat dubia roaches, I ended up having to trick him by holding a superworm up to him and doing the switcharoo when he tried to shoot his tongue out at it lol. After doing that twice he ended up realizing that they arent that bad.

It is funny how a chameleon can eat so much yet be so picky 😂😂 my girl would eat anything I gave her,
