David,
The common name is the Spiny-flanked Chameleon.
I hate to say it but unfortunately this little guy was only in my care for a couple weeks. He seemed to be doing well but suddenly died on me. He was feeding, drinking, had good body weight, seemed well hydrated, was active and showed no apparent illness and was being kept in what I thought were good conditions (mid/low 70s temps with a basking spot and 2 misting cycles a day for 30mins each) but without warning, after about a week and a half, died very suddenly and quickly. It was a very frustrating death as it seemed to show nothing to indicate why he died. In most other instances, there is something that seems to point to something being wrong but I really didn't see anything in this case that lead me to believe anything was wrong until he was falling off the branch and then died in my hand one afternoon. I know there are a couple others in the US now since I got mine and hopefully they will do better then mine did. I'm hoping I'll get a second shot with this species though in the near future as I really don't understand what happened. Thanks for the interest though!
Chris
