Choking?

So this morning a little bit after I gave Clyde his liquid calcium I heard him make this weird gagging sound. I got so scared! :( I got up to check on him and he was sticking his tongue out just the smallest bit and had a spit bubble. He put it back in his mouth but was making wheezing sounds. He kept holding his head up with his nose to the ceiling like he couldn't breathe and swallowing a lot, along with small wheezing kind of noises. After a few minutes he took a couple really big breathes then he stopped making weird breathing noises and held his head normally. Clyde seems fine now, he came out and walked around and I watched him eat. His tongue worked fine and he didn't have trouble swallowing.

What could've happened? Did he swallow his tongue or air or something, could his medicine have just went down wrong? His tongue is still in his mouth and a nice pink when I look. My mom doesn't want to pay for a vet visit since he seems ok now, especially since our normal vet isn't in so we'd have to go somewhere else. Should I be worried or is he alright if he stays normal while I'm monitoring him today?

He should be fine. My veiled just a couple days ago started "choking" on a roach--he sorta regurgitated it back up and swallowed it again :D If he's fine now, there's nothing to worry about.

do you use a eye-dropper? make sure its not to much to fast. when chams drink they only get few drops or so at a time. :)
just becareful and you should be fine.

I use a syringe, he gets 0.1 every morning and night as told by the vet. I think i just put too much too far down his mouth or he got an air bubble (hopefully). He hasn't had any other problems so far. I was so worried this morning though :p

Hope all is well!

I had the same problem giving liquids. The vet told me that when they eat or drink they automatically close their windpipe but may not when fighting being forced to drink? Anyway, he had me inject the med into soft-bodied feeders and my boy didn't have any more problems when I did it that way. And, I wasn't irritating his throat by putting the dropper down into the back of his mouth.
