Hi,
I rescued a male veiled Cham that was malnutrition and was given to me. He's just few months old and was just given baytuil. No mbd signs and eat me out of house with crickets lol. The rule of thumb is to use calcium without d3 every feeding once daily right. I had no plans to get another but I had the heart to help a veiled most def in need. I put him in a tub with everything low profile and used a topper for heating UVB stretch around.
Right now I have no extra cage and need one. Was looking for a cheap cage 36" tall I assume is ok with a topper like screen at the top for reptisun. This veiled was raised with the previous owner and was under a solar glo mvb bulb. I tryed to buy cage from him but had to use it for tree snake he had. But gave me the veiled for nothing because he was recently treated and wanted a good home for him. I questioned myself if it was a good idea. The veiled was right there looked good with L elbows and was strong. Lol needed a nail trim because he cut my hands pretty good but was used to it with my female veiled that is razor sharp as well.
He's really neat with the cone head getting big and nice orange and blues. After I catch up on vet bills ill have him at the vet. His stool was smelly so may have parasites one reason for vet visit.
Any advice on cheap cages and rescued chams would be appreciated. It's my first male veiled that I wanted but never figured out how to no for sure. So I keeped getting females with bad luck I guess. Think you know by looking but even being so small spurs on back legs can't see or it's just me.
