Change in color

Originally my Jacksons stayed right under their heat lamps. I got worried about Burns and my female would start gaping quite regularly. I changed both of their enclosures up and lower their basking branches. Now they are staying a darker color. Should I raise them back up or should I wait a few days. They were basking maybe an inch or so from the lamps on top of enclosures. Now basking spots are approximately 4-6 inches from the lamps. Temps in basking area are staying 75-80 degrees. Just a concerned momma

They are both eating and drinking well. My male will actually through a little temper tantrum if I don't put him in the shower every couple of days. That's his fav thing. The only other thing I can think of is he may be getting ready to she'd and that's his color change. I know the female I pregnant. She she'd before she had her last babies a few weeks ago. So that could be the deal with her as well. She has a dripper system that she gets under she's not as crazy about the shower. I mist them whenever I mist the babies so that's at least 10 times a day pregnancy wise she had the last clutch Aug 22. I'd call a vet to be safe but in my area there is not an exotic vet that I'm aware of. Or do y'all think that maybe I should try a higher wattage heat bulb since I lowered the basking area

Jackson don't need high temp for basking. They might stay dark while they are basking. Give them couple days. As long as they are eating and pooping normal. It should be fine
