The vermiculite is moist enough that you can make a small ball without dissolving. It is about 5 to 6 inches deep. I am incubating them in a closet that is always dark. It is a sliding closet. They look good to me!
How moist is the vermiculite?
How deep is the vermiculite?
Where are you incubating them? In an incubator or closet? In the dark?
Also what are some signs to look out for when they are close to hatching they were laid on 10/22/2024They look good to me!

Oh wow got it so I will def keep in eye on them more. They are like greyish white and there is qlot of humidity in there. I crazy haha the name I mean Asend lol I was jst i dnt have to experience that then there will b alot fo Asends lolAre they panthers chameleon eggs?
By now they should have grown quite a bit bigger. They will get marks on them that look less white we call windows, and only a few days before hatching, they will likely shrink and sweat. Then, the end of the egg should slit in an x shape and the babies head will poke out. It may lay there like that for a couple of days…or may come out shortly after it slits. It’s always best if it gets out on its own…shows that it is robust enough to survive.
Over all the years I hatched eggs I rarely had one that died in the egg. I did have to help one when the egg somehow broke open at the wrong end of the egg and the chameleon had to be helped so it could breath…came out butt first…so I called him Asend (ass end).
They are panther and thank you! One of the eggs jst begin to sweat but not shrink.Your clutch of eggs looks healthy. What species of chameleon eggs are they?
Best Regards

Hello question. So …1 of the eggs has a few droplets on it but it is not shrinking.. is that ok or should I worry? And if so is it close tom hatching? Are they panthers chameleon eggs?

Oh wow so its best to check them frm a distance? It was 1 egg now its 2 more sweating and one appears to be making the x shapeI wouldn’t worry about it not shrinking yet.
You likely have a few or couple of days before it hatches. It should make an x shaped slit in one end of the egg soon and lay with its head sticking out for a while. Some come out if the egg faster than others.

Got it so then I will just keep the container cleaned like that and not bother with the hatchling at all , their is 3 eggs sweating right nowDon’t open the incubation container very often right now because you don’t want to dry out the environment or the egg shells, etc. will harden somewhat and make it more difficult for the baby to get out. You can take the babies out once they are free of the egg and walking around inside the container. Don’t pull on the baby if the “umbilical cord” is still attached…you don’t want to rip it off. If there’s an umbilical cord dragging along with the baby once it’s out of the egg, you don’t want it to get stuck to something making the baby unable to move without tugging on it.
Ok so I am keeping it closed but I did see that the baby has the yolk sac stuck to it. Also another has emerged but only a tiny bit is showing, that one is not making an effort to get outDon’t open the incubation container very often right now because you don’t want to dry out the environment or the egg shells, etc. will harden somewhat and make it more difficult for the baby to get out.
