Chams age? and other

ok i just got my cham about a week ago. and he is currently about 2.5 inches from nose to where his tail starts. how old is he? and one more thing since i presume hes young is it ok to see what look like ribs? just kind like a ripple over his body. he eats and ive checked urate so hes hydrated.
