Chamie drinking from dish

Will these guys never cease to amaze me?!?!

I have a dish in the bottom of my enclosure to catch the water from my homemade dripper. My shy boy, Nacho, I noticed yesterday goes down and licks it with his tongue then bites at the water then settles his mouth in it and seems to gulp it down. I know that Chamies don't recognize sitting water as a water source that's why we mist them. This is a very interesting thing he's doing. Probably from being in a Chinese pet store where they don't mist but i don't know where he figured out this habit. So strange and interesting.

Do any of your guys drink from sitting water sources????

I have a bowl that collects the extra drops from the fogger and I always see Commah drinking from it! It kind of gives me peace of mind to know worst comes to worst he knows he can find moisture/water there! I thought he was the only weird one! haha. Good to know he isn't the only cham to figure out what a bowl is!

TJ used to only want to drink from faucets, showers, or when i felt like cleaning the waterfall, he loved that too! also licks ANYTHING shiny, like the armani logo on my sunglasses

Lol, nice.

My cham doesn't but he drinks from a plastic syringe twice a day. Plus the mistings I give him. Man is he spoiled.

They deserve to be spoiled. I think they are defo the coolest lizards I have ever had. So glad my ex bought them for me for my birthday this summer. I originally thought, 'Thanks. Something else I have to feed and pick up sh*t for.' But now I see how friggen cool they are and I guess if it weren't for these and my other pets I wouldn't have purpose of poo and food...or I would have a lot more time to do nothing. So I guess constantly trying to find food for them and watch their funny little personalities gives me great pleasure and conversation pieces instead of how many ex-pat talk about drinking excursions.

I saw franklin do that when he was younger. i thought it was pretty cool too, and like you said, it gave me peace of mind. I haven't seen him do it lately, but he doesn't do all that much in front of me anymore. I'm sure he would if he had to.
