chameleons tail

hi there bought a 15month old yemen cham female, and she has some of her tail missing shes ok it affects her balance a bit but i was just wondering how long it takes to grow back

chameleons, unlike most other lizards, dont regrow their tails, it wont affect her alot, ive seen many wc chams in the petstore missing their tails, its common in the wild.

They will not grow back. Other lizards-some-Chameleons-none. They can live just fine with some missing tail.

I thought most don't grow back... and there is like one species of lizard that can regenerate its tail and other body parts..... I'm having a brain fart.....

Edit, I did some reading.... I guess ya learn something everyday! Link I must be thinking of regenerating body parts which is something else and i'll have to ask my GF about that because we were talking about it recently.

yeah, chameleons CANT regrow their tails, but alot of geckos, anoles DO regenerate their tails.

from my understanding most of the iguanidae and monitor family won't shed or loose there tail.

its mainly the gecko, and other small lizards.

iguana's don't shed there tail, like other lizards, if they drop a portion of the tail, the nerve endings are done. i have never heard of an iguana dropping and regrowing a tail.

iguanas dont drop their tails, but they do regrow it, i have a colony of wild iguanas that live in my backyard and the large male lost his tail and over a few weeks it grew back

I have one that lives in my trees in my backyard that did the same thing, only it grew 2 new black tails. I had the picture posted somewhere here very clearly showing the 2 tails.

yeah that happens when the break is uneven, ive seen geckos and anoles like that in my backyard, thatd be cool on an iguana!
