Chameleons hanging out together

I know that chameleons are asocial. I used to keep veiled's some time ago and that was certainly the case. I have Jackson's now, and have 4 females I have had for a while since they were about 6-7 mos old they are around a year now, when i first got them I had all 4 of them in a big enclosure, Now I have 2 in one enclosure and the other 2 in another, but since day 1 with 2 of them, they follow each other everywhere, If one climbs a stick to bask the other one is right there on the same stick, If one escapes or tries to escape they both do it when I find them they are always together. I am going to try and get some pics this week. Has anyone else experienced this ?

Not the best picture but right after I made that post I went to look at them and.............

Some chameleons do get along together and even seek out the company of others, but for the most part they are not social animals. As I'm sure you know, housing multiple together can often lead to stressful situations that can lead to the demise of one or both animals. Thats not always the case though. As long as the two are not stressed out, have enough basking areas, and enough space those two will probably be fine. Be on the watch for anything to go wrong though. You never know.

I totally agree. You should not house chameleons together. My guys all free range and these two just happen to seek eachother out as Pssh said. They are they only ones that I have that get along.

I also agree they should be housed separately , I think part of the reason I am having luck with this situation is that I take them both outside 1 or 2 times a day to get some natural sunlight in the nice florida sun, If I am up I do it early in the morning, and i always catch the late day sun, I have a nice hibiscus tree for them , I see no signs of aggression and most of the time they are bright green. ;)
