Hi! About a week ago she had something stuck in one of her eyes and wouldn't open it all the way, so I got it out and she was fine. Then a few days ago she had something stuck in her other eye, which I also got out and she seemed fine. However, the next day both of her eyes were shut and she wouldn't open them no matter what.

I hadn't been misting her at all up until now. I got her from a friend and I asked the friend to tell me everything I was supposed to do for her. She never told me to mist her, so I honestly didn't know. So, I've started misting her regularly and I've taken her in the shower with my a few times for the humidity and spray. I was told to try saline solution, so I've tried that on her eyes.

Yesterday, she opened both of her eyes almost all the way and I was able to see inside them. Her pupils and the rest of her eyes look fine. They're not swollen in any way and they don't look irritated. However, she hasn't opened her eyes again since then. I did catch her rubbing her eye on a branch one time though.

She also hasn't been eating or drinking, although it might be because she can't open her eyes to see them. I've been able to force-feed her mealworms and drop water into her mouth.

I don't know what to do anymore. I won't be able to take her to the vet for another week. Is there anything I'm not trying, or something that I should do differently? Please let me know! Thank you!

Welcome to the forums. I keep veileds and my females are always very special. The biggest thing I see that you need to correct is do not use calcium with d3 but once or twice a month. You need calcium without d3 about twice a week and a multi vitamin once or twice a month. She also needs a large variety of well gut loaded feeders. Does she have a laying bin? Females often lay eggs without a male even being around. I would try showers and extra long warm misting and see if her eyes improve. What kind of lights are you using? What brand? Sometimes the lights can bother their eyes. I have a blog for the way that I keep my veileds and have had great success with through out the years. I've attached it below.

Try to take a cue tip and wipe her eyes; my male veiled does it to and when I rub his eyes with a cue tip gently they clear up and he opens them again.
