Chameleon Trust?

So, now I've had my chameleon for a little while. She totally eats from my hand (crickets, kale, strawberry...) every time I bring food into her cage. But even when I just pit my hand in with no food, she shys away. I approach and do everything exactly the same as if I had food in my hand. I can do cage maintenance without worrying too much but if I bring my hands close to her at all, her skin shows her 'angry mode'. If I take her out, I coax her out on a baton and then she moves onto my hand after a minute or two. Just because her and I still have trust issues, I only take her out once every week on the same day. When she is out, she always tries to climb onto my head and I don't let her because if she gets tangled in my hair and I use my hands to get her out, I'm nervous that she'll bite me.

So anyways, do you guys think I have any inkling of her trust or should I keep trying or should I just leave her alone? I would eventually like her to maybe hang out with me as I watch tv.

As long as you're not forcing anything I'd say you're fine. It's usually pretty easy to tell if they're going to bite. I really recommend listing to the chameleon breeder podcast on stress. It goes over handling and what's okay, what's not and how to read their signals.
