Chameleon tail

I posted a thread a couple of weeks ago about my female veiled's tail looking weird and that a cricket might have gotten to it, so that's what I thought. But today at 6 pm I was misting her and when i was finished she turned around and her tail was like a inch away from her and she shot her tongue at her tail and was chewing on it for a couple of seconds until she figured out that it was her tail. Is there anything that I should do or be worried about and will it heal over time. Please help me.

Any wound can get bacteria in it, so at the very least, I would use a medicated cream on it.

I am a little concerned with my veiled cham's tail as well (approx 1.3 months old). It's a bit discolored (light brown) at the very tip.
