Chameleon started running across the viv with tongue stuck out

And I don't mean moving slightly faster than normal. I mean RUNNING. We just got some new crickets and fed her from the box the crickets came in (second time today) and a couple escaped in the viv. We left her in her enclosure and after not even 5 minutes she suddenly started running VERY FAST around the enclosure, climbing up and down the branches, all the while she had her tongue out. She stopped for a few seconds and looked at us with the tongue still out, then put it back in her mouth. Could it be that she bit her tongue and got scared? Thanks
 
You will have to keep a close eye on her and see if she is using it normally. If not and you think she injured it a trip to the vet and some anti inflammatory medication might minimize the damage.
