Chameleon sleeping outside his cage

Hey guys randell my male cham keeps leaving his cage around 6 his lights go out 6:40 and sleeps on tree outside his cage he has done this 3 nights in a row.

I have had him 9 days and today is first time he walked onto my arm so he is deffantly starting to trust me but has he claimed the tree as his new sleeping spot?

Agreed. If you don't mind him sleeping there and there is nothing that would get at him like a cat, I don't see the harm in it. My guy goes back to his sleeping spot about an hour before lights out so if your not wanting him to then just make sure his door is closed about an hour before bed time so he has to find a spot in the cage.

I dont mind him there just checking if it was ok :p
 
As long as he can easily get back inside the cage and under the lights to warm up in the morning and there is nothing dangerous like other animals. It doesn't sound like he a wanderer, and he actually sounds like he'd make a good free range candidate. In the respect that you can leave the cage open on a regular basis as long as you are there and allow him to designate when he goes out.
