I didnt know exactly what to search the forums for so ill ask here,Is there a rule as to What size Enclosure a Chameleon needs at a certain size,What are the problems i will run into if I put my 5inch veiled(tip to tail) into and adult size enclosure?I was thinking of going to get the supplies to build a new cage soon, and was wondering if there would be a problem building him his adult enclosure.I cant keep him in His 10g tank anymore because the waterings are building on the floor,he wont stop scratching the glass.poor air circulation ect...But mainly because of the water build up,i imagine there is a myriad of bacteria gathering in the pools.

Thanks-CC

Its not a bad idea to buy/make both a juvenile and adult cage. That way when he is an adult you can put him in his juvie cage to sun in on nice days. He will probably be big enough for his adult cage by 5 maybe 6 months...from my experience. Hope this helps some.

I have a carpet cham about the same size in an enclosure that is 18x18x36. I don't know how big you plan on making your enclosure, probably large since you are building it, but at this size cage and my cham size the only problem we have is finding food. She is a good hunter but the bugs are sneaky and hide. You might want to take yours out to feed it. Or use cup feeding if your veiled is down with that. Aside from that my cham likes her cage size.
