Chameleon searching/hunting

I was thinking of going to madagascar for summer and try to find some chameleons there. I don’t know what city yet. I was thinking about Ambanja but do you guys know some prettier places with more chameleons to see/find?

That would be so cool! I had no idea that you could go there and just find one! Are they that common or would it be difficult? Aren’t there downsides to getting a wild caught cham? Are you planning on breeding it?

I dont know even if I get one how could I get him to Serbia because of the papers and huge flight back to home and I dont know much about wild caught chams. Even if I had the papers to get him to Serbia I would only do that if he’s sick or injured just to help him. I would love to breed them but I am not that expirienced and I dont have time for that. It would be such a cool experience! Definitely do more research, but I’m sure It would be difficult to get it back to Serbia, I would assume they would have restrictions with transporting animals, especially exotic ones, but I’m not sure

you would assume right. You would need CITES export permits from the country of origin (Madagascar in this case) and import permits from the import country (Serbia)

these are very expensive and can take a long time to get.

I’m still not sure how that would work if you had the permits and went there though. Would probably still have some difficulty.
