Chameleon proofing

So as I move towards an eventual free range, I have been doing a lot of reading. Just about every thread talks about "chameleon proofing" the area.

Being as this is my first cham I don't really know what cham proofing the room entails. So far I have blocked all the air vents so he cant climb on them if he gets to the floor of my room, but what else should I be watching out for?

As it stands right now I just let him crawl around plants on my desktop so I am always here when he is out of his enclosure, but I would like to be able to have a more permanent suspended structure for him to chill if he chooses on his own with me gone out the room because I am guessing he likes being out of his cage (who wouldn't?!) judging from how he acts once he is back inside.

For me, proofing means being careful with wall outlets and cables (making sure he can't stick a hand in the socket to try to climb or something. Like with kids or puppies, basically), covering any water containers (like for misting or draining water), not having any chemicals or sharp objects that he could climb onto, and blocking the entry of other pets into the area if that's important.

Stuff like that. Imagine yourself as a cham and think what you could use to get up on stuff or what you could manage to climb onto that might be handful or dangerous. I haven't had to make too many changes to my rooms for them. But you know, don't leave a bucket of pinesol laying around for them to fall into or drink out of :D
