Hi all..

I have a problem with my young chameleon- she is about 5 months old..and last 2 weeks she is not eating anything...only drinking water..and I am worried about her..she seems to be a bit apathetic...

her food-cicadas

could you help me somehow?
i do not know what else to write so if you have any questions to her..just ask...:confused::confused::confused:

thank you

Is she showing mustard/yellowish splotches on her body?
Is she showing bright blue dots?
Can you post a picture please?

Can you fill out the questions in the thread "how to ask for help" at the top of the health section please?

she is a female, 4 months in my care..ahe..i do not know exactly..i think so about 6months...

handling-i do not understand this question- i take her on my arms 3 times per week..sometimes more...

Feed- small cicadas...amount- I am buying around 15- i have 2 chameleons the second one is older around 1 year old...I had tried to feed her also separate...but she is not eating

water- yes she is drinking-from leaves or from sprayer...she has also a small pound

no dots on her body

cage is this model... http://www.spokojenypes.cz/inshop/catalogue/products/pictures/107-PT2607.jpg

with lamp for chameleons

locations: Slovak Republic
lamp is switched on before and after noon - for about 6h a day...

i would have more informations tomorrow- i take look on the plants and also the light (but it is for chameleons) and foto oh her...

the older one has no problems with food..only the younger one..but about month ago she has no problems with eating...

Are they in the same cage?
What species are they?
Is the second one a male or female?
Can you post a picture?

Two possibilities...but there may be other possibilities too....
the female is stressed out be the presence of the other female and its affecting her health. I would put them each in a cage of their own.

The female could be gravid. They can produce eggs even without having been mated. She's fairly young for that to happen...but it can happen at that age.

Do you have a place for them to dig in the cage to show you when they need to lay eggs?

hmm...
until this month there have been no problems that there are two of them

the material of the bottom filling of cage is from cocos...should I put there sand?

that cage seems small for an adult chameleon let alone 2. also you say your lights are on for 6 hours - how are they lit or heated when the lights are not on?

That's a generic picture for identification only, the OP says a picture of the actual chameleon is coming soon.

You said..."until this month there have been no problems that there are two of them"...the stress can build up and lower the immune system so that suddenly you see things are going wrong.
