Chameleon practically lives outside his terrarium

Hi there, my 2 year old veiled Cham, Clyde, has a terrarium but everytime we put him in he wants out. I have rearranged it hoping he might like it but nothing works. He has a tree that he stays in all day on the windowsill and I keep the temperature up in the house and spray him from time to time. Does he need his terrarium or can he continue "living outside" of it? In winter it will be useful of course but I'm still curious

If you want him to live in the free range you better add a basking light and uvb.

Make sure they are mounted in such a way that he can’t get to them and burn himself. I know that seems obvious, but still worth mentioning.
