Stumbled across this when I got home today! They are both 11-12 months old. I know I have a lot to do further down the line for her but is there any thing I need to being in the near future to ensure this ends well? How long do I wait to separate them? When she starts being not so friendly towards him again?

Put a suitable opaque container at least 12" deep x 12" x 8" filled with moist washed playsand in her cage and leave it there. Bigger is better.

Well..you might have 30 days and you might not depending on her cycle.
Wouldn't you rather be safe than sorry?

Yes, I'm not questioning wheather it's the right thing to do or not, I'm asking for my own knowledge...

What about the length of time to leave them in the same enclosure as they are now. Should I remove him now or wait until she gets tired of him? I would think she will let me know when it's time for him to go but this is my first go-round.

She should turn dark and start repelling him by gaping, hissing, rocking back and forth, and lunging at him. As soon as she starts to do that separate them because she will attack him if he doesn't need her warnings.

She still shows no sign of aggression towards him. But I noticed she has been spending a lot of time on the edge of her last bin and she has a pattern on her side that I've never seen before. Does this pattern mean anything and is it time to remove the male despite no signs of aggression?
