Here's a quickie I tossed together for a little fun. Lets see some others.

Life as a Chameleon

Oh, what a life it is way up in these trees,
there's no other place I'd rather be.
Climbing from limb to limb ~so flawlessly.
I'm catchin' bugs with euphoric glee
using my far stretching tongue,
it comes so ~effortlessly

With telescoping and independent eyes,
my aim is infallible and true ~I've never missed.
My favorite are those annoying and drunken' flies.
I come in a multitude of technicolor dyes
Seeing ladies, I show off colors of such ~bliss
and bob my head, unless you're a ~guy.

At night, I'm as cute as any can be
tucking my tail up close to my ~fanny.
I perch way up high in the the canopy,
where no predators will be able to get at me.
Relaxed in all my splendor, dreaming of all that beauty
There's only one thing I'd change about this life in a tree.

It'd be that wacky human always gawking at me!

Hope ya enjoyed it.

hey look at me, look at me
a chameleon high in a tree
please send a bug my way
maybe a locust or a mantis,
on them i will prey

sun on my scales
a curl in my tail
a loaded gun in my mouth
I'm living way down south

madagascar is my home
as still as a yard nome
soon i will stike my tounge
and digest my meal under the sun

oh how i love this life of glee
maybe soom day, a pet i could be!

just made it up on the spot, hope it is worthy enough to stand to yours.

I am the lizard king up here in my tree.
No need to strain your eyes... I'm easy to see.

Mother nature has painted her colors on me.

All my blues, greens and reds fill the ladies with glee -
and with a few bobs of my head...
they submit willingly.

And so I'll say with respect, for unkind I won't be -
Jim Morrison's got nothin' on me.

sittin on a perch waiting to lerch
what tree next a oak or a birch
a bug wizzs by,
was that a fly?
to late now
its turned into my chow

My jovial Jackson's
Goes creepity-crawlity,
Crawlity-creepity
Boldly about.

My jovial Jackson's
Has scales on his belly,
A coil in his taily,
And horns on his snout.

(More doggerel than poetry:D)

Heres a Haiku called Horn worm Horror

Fat horn worm lies near,
Lightning fast tongue shoots fiercely,
Guts squirt everywhere
