Hello I have a Question my female is 6 months about and she was just on the ground earlier today this was the first time I had seen it and I got a little worried I do give her vitamins d3 two times a month and multivitamins also two times a month and with out every day all repi cal. I do not have an egg laying bin but I have been trying to get a bigger cage so it will fit. She is not on the ground any more right when she saw me she got up.

Please help, madison

so do you have the bin in the cage then or not? Can you post a picture of her? Does she look like she has eggs?

If she is only on the bottom once, don't worry. Most likely she is just exploring. But if it happens several times, she is either looking for a place to lay or has something else bothering her. I would have a laying bin in with her as soon as you can, she is at that age.

Hi Madi, it's anne
is this the first time she has been on the ground?
is she eating?, active?
I've said this before, I don't do females, but I think 6mo might be a little early to lay, but not unheard of. Let some of the others with this experience answer, prob ask for a pic. I know your set up has been good from the start, and I am glad you came to ask.
lets see what the others say, ok?

never mind, the High Priestesses have come to your rescue!!
man you 2 are fast!

She is very active and eats a lot. First time at bottom also
Thanks for the quick responses

I had a bin in the cage but it was not deep enough and she did not seem interested I will get a pis right now

I would put it in as soon as you can. I did that with mine. I also had a vine stuck into the sand/dirt so she could get in or out. I then put her in it even though she was not showing Gravid. She climbed out immediately.

I noticed that when she cruised her cage she was sometimes on the rim or cutting across the top.

My point is she was comfortable with that bin in there. When it came time to lay she went and did what she had to do without a hitch. I have it as a permanent part of her cage. Good luck with your little girl:D

i put in a 5 inch deep bin with soil and know she goes in one spot to sleep and one spot to spend her day in she wont go in it. but the big cage that i built is done so i will get sand from home deport and put in a laying bin thanks for the help
