Chameleon not eating !

Hey guys ,

Right I have a 1 year old blue bar ambilobe chameleon (MALE).
Hes getting very skinny and has stopped eating , iv tried crickets leaving small and large ones in the cage over night . . . . Nothing !
Iv made feeder cups for dubia roaches from small to medium size . . . . Nothing ! not even tried one . . . .

The lil bugger will take a calcium worms,wax worms and he used to take meal worms but not anymore.

They are all gut loaded with greens and dusted with sups.

Can anyone suggest anything mantids ? butterworms ? he loves wax moths but can get any !

At one year old they become adults and start eating less. Are you sure he has stopped eating or has he just reduced his intake?
They start to get picky when they become adults and eat less. Most soft bodied worm will work. Butter worms, phoenix worms, horn warms.

Calci worms are ok so are silkworms. Avoid wax worms. I would avoid leaving crickets in cage at night as they can cause a nasty bite. It sounds as if he is wanting his desert before his main course.

Blue bottle flies are great for breaking a hunger strike.

My Cham did exactly the same when he turned around one year old you should be cutting his food down to one day feeding one day without and so on, he also did the same we're he wouldn't take anything but worms! No roaches crickets, locust nothing except worms!! So I tried every morning with roaches an he wouldn't take them so I gave in and have him some worms as thought that he needs to eat somthing! But you need to be patient with him he knows that if he doesn't eat the roaches that your going to give him some juicy worms anyway so he won't bother ! Don't give him any worms or anything for a good 3-4 days he will be fine trust me and then on the 4th day try give him a roach he will be hungry so he should take it if he doesn't don't give in and give him worms Bcoz then he has won and u will have to start over , I did this with my Cham if he didn't take the roach he gets nothing and now he eats roaches every other day on his feeding day and goes strait for them u have to be cruel to be kind, Bcoz having just worms won't be very good for him just be patient and don't worry cham's can go longer than you think without food!
