Chameleon isnt eating or drinking

so when i got a chameleon, he was eating well, but he was barely drinking water and i got worried. he isnt eating or drinking at all. he gets very scared whenever he sees one of us. I thought maybe the chameleon was actually a girl and was going to lay eggs. I put a pot of topsoil with no chemicals in the cage but either he isnt a girl or he/she is picky with the soil. i dont even know if he/she laid any eggs but even if so she is not acting any different. please help him/her.

Yes please fill out the forum. It’s very good to know whether it’s a boy or girl so you know if you need to set up a laying bin or not
