chameleon is shaking?

hi! Got a 3 months old vieled chameleon. Living in this:


And here she is :

The problem is that she often hangs out in the roof of the terrarium. And when I see her walking around up there she is SHAKING like she is out of energy or something. But she is eating good. About 2-3 crickets a day powdered with calcium. She drinks pretty good, her urine have been a bit light yellow sometimes but not much. She have a 5.0 UVB bulb, 2.0 daylight and a 100w baskingspot.

She is in a calm enviroment, she only gets disturbed when im coming home from work.

Im worried she is sick or something.
What do you guys think??

First, that is NOT a 3 month old chameleon, maybe a month, if that.

Second- shes probably doing the leaf walk, most chams do, if you go to youtube you can see it.

she should also be eating way more crickets a day than that. do you offer more, or is that all you give her?

This is probably a dumb question, but I'm going to ask it anyway. How big are the crickets that you're feeding her? The rule of thumb, that most use, is they should be no wider than the space between her eyes. If she eats something that's way too big, she could have a problem passing the bowel movement or even choke.

Also, is that a plastic roof, or is there plastic between your uvb bulb and the cage? If so, uvb rays cant pass through plastic, so you need to remove that.

The previous owner fed her 2 a day. I do offer about 4-5 crix some days but she do not eat all of them.

Ye, I thoughed so too, but I have seen her doing the leaf walk when I´ve been sneeking on her. But this looks way different.

Her basking is about 80-90 F depending on my room temp.

Yet so far I have only fed her crickets. My dubias are way to big but the babies are on the way.

She is also hanging in the roof at night when the light gone off, is this dangerous? Can she sleep in the roof?

What size are you offering, they should be pin heads. Babies can eat 20+ bugs a day, when sized correctly.

Esp a baby that young. Her basking spot should be no higher than 83 right now, as anything higher can roast her.

I agree and that is not a 3 month old chameleon. Whoever sold it to you either does not know what they are talking about or were trying to sell you an animal before they should have. She should be eating about 20 small crickets a day. 1/4 inch at the most. Yes she can sleep on the roof. Most of them do when young and you first get them. Your basking area should be around low 80-82 degrees. I would lower the wattage of that bulb. How do you know it is a female?

****. They might be a bit big those crickets.... The crix body probably at the limit on being to big... guess I have to go buy smaller ones?

I thought pinheads but maybe 1/4 inch might be just a tad too big. Can you imagine only feeding 2 little crickets a day? No wonder it is so skinny.

She really is skinny.

at that size, I stuck with pinheads, at least until there was meat on their bones, I went up to 1/4 inch when mine were about 2 months old. give or take.

id rather feed undersized bugs and feed 40 of them a day, than feed oversized bugs and risk choking. (learned that the hard way).

no, no I agree. To the owner of the little cham....the males have little points on the back of their back heels, the females do not. I was just thinking it could be a male if the people told you it was 3 months old they probably do not know how to sex them either!
