Chameleon is acting weird

Hi,

My chameleon has been acting really weird lately. i have a few concerns. The thing is that I've been told its a male. but yet again I'm not sure... "he's" about 9 months old. Now for 3 days he's been moving around like a snake, dragging his body on the branch he's on. Ive noticed that he has not shed properly for 2 months. Sometimes his head and once his tail in the past 2 months.

When he's lying in the light he opens his legs and and puts his stomach on the branch. I'm really worried because i read that it could possibly be some sort of bone disease, but yet again I'm not sure if my chameleon is producing eggs or is just sick. Just to let you know he's been eating and drinking like usual. Now when i cary on my hand i noticed that he's very weak, possibly enough to not be able to pick himself up. I would like to know how i can find out myself that if he's a male or a female. And any ideas whats wrong? Thanks :)

There will be little spur, or bumps on the back of the chameleons back feet. Also do you have a uvb light, and basking light.

Please post some photos and fill in the questions in the how to ask for help thread at the top of the health forum so we can help better.

I have a vield chameleon, and yes i do have a UVB light and a basking light. I can't really take pictures right now because his light just went out about 10 mins ago. but what I'm really worried about is why he's dragging himself.

He may need to shed, if you make the humidity higher than his skin will come off, mist him directly, he may also have lice, or some kind of skin parisites, if his bulb is old he may be starting to develope mbd.

I would recommend taking the chameleon to the vet ASAP...its not good that he's weak and dragging his body around. Could be a number of things but without knowing if its a male or female or being able to see photos or being told what your husbandry is specifically like we can't help you ...so I would recommend taking it to a vet. Its not something that you can wait to solve or you will have a dead chameleon from the sounds of it.

okay thanks :) and is it true that like males can turn red, or pink? because my chameleon only has like 3-4 colours. he never changes anything amazing.

Really only pink in their face, veiled chameleons really will change to a few colors, if you wanted one that had amazing colors you should have got a panther.

okay, but i will post photos tomorrow. can anyone possibly give me a link to the how to ask for help forum?

I posted the link already for you.
Now, veileds dont change to red or pink.
ever.
these are not their colors
veileds will be shades of greeniish blue, green, yellow, a bit of orange.
no pink. no red.
pinks and reds stay with panthers.

and we need that form filled out if i you want your chameleon to survive.
and you need a vet visit is hes having the troubles you are describing.
