Chameleon Husbandry: Cages?

I currently have everything with my veiled chameleon up to
par in terms of a caresheet, etc. What I was wondering was he is alrdy growing quite big i would say hes at the 4-6 month marker, I know 24x24x48 is recommended by most people for adults but is there anything slightly
more horizontal? Like 30x30x48 or maybe even higher, because with chameleons bigger is better of course but i also wanted more horizontal room for decoration, etc. Any tips or links? :)

sure that size would be awesome! The bigger the better!!!! you mean do they sell that size? No, I don't think so but you can build your own!

size

as far as ive seen 95% of cages see to cap out at the 48 " range i would suggest breaking out the tools so u can design the exact one that im sure is stiring in your head right now

Looks like i'll have to rent a drill or something then and begin a blue print,
I like this cage personally:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjjo4Rd8D-Y

its a 100cmx50cmx45cm
aka
40'' x 20'' x 18'' approximately but
for an adult this is a horrible cage size and glass is
a no no too, so i could just blue print my own and do something like

36''~48''x36''~48''x60''~72''
so anywhere from
3'x3'x4'
3'x3'x5'
3'x3'x6'
or
4'x4'x5'
or 4'x4'x6'

This is a plan that i'd complete over months while he grows a bit more i want him to hit the 8 month marker before i put him in such a big cage, but i was hoping on finding something but alas if u build it u will feel more proud about it, plus the chameleon may not say it but he will probably enjoy more space right?

I know many people suggest making your cage higher than it is wide but would it really stress a chameleon out to be in a

2' deep
5' long
5' high

cage?

Thats still more space overall right?

That would be fine. 5' tall is actually a foot taller than what most keeper's keep there chams in from 4' tall screen cages. And the 5' long is great!!

Horizontal space is just as important, so I'm glad people are talking about it.

You can always buy two 4x2x2 cages and join them together, to get one big 4x4x2 cage. I know some people on here have done this and it looks large. Just an idea if you don't feel handy enough to build something yourself.

i have only one 3 by 3 by 6 cage and my veiled cham thats in it, pyro, is the biggest veiled ive ever seen, maybe just a cooincidence, but hes massive

EDIT: if you have to rent 2 tools get the dewalt impact wrench and the dewalt power drill. Built all my cages with them and they make everything soooo fast and easy
