Hi everyone! It is my first post on chameleon forums but I've been reading posts here for a while now.
I have male veiled chameleon, his name is Filip and he is about 1yo.
He's been a happiest chameleon ever until recently Ive noticed that he's eyes (especially left one as you can see on a pictures) are puffed. We went to a see a vet straight away and she said the he is still growing and he is just stretching his skin around the eyes so eyes can grow as well ???! That sounded a bit odd to me, but anyway... After about a month the situation with eyes remained the same and we went to a vet one more time. This time she said that "omg, he has an infection!" Well eyes looked exactly the same as last time, so why her diagnosis is so different? She prescribed 2 different eye drops: one was just a clear saline and another one with antibiotics, so she said that I have to use saline (blue bottle) first and after that the one with antibiotics (yellow bottle) (pictures attached) nothing helped! And I could see that the one with antibiotics is really painful as Filip was blinking really fast and did not open eye for several minutes and it made me even more upset!
Basically, we've been using this eyedrops for 2 weeks and I did not notice any result, is just that his right eye is shedding time to time.
I have no idea what has caused this infection and how to deal with it.
In my area there are no vets that are good with reptiles and I could not find anywhere else in the city. It costs a lot really and I can't see any result. Such a small creature and no one can help me to make him happy again. Please, all suggestions and opinions are welcome! Thanks in advance. Linda & Filip
