Chameleon has one eye closed

Hi everyone, we have a male or possibly a female veiled chameleon. They are about a year and a half old. For now we just call him/her Pablo. We noticed that Pablo would rub their eye on the plant sometimes and it was looking a little funky. For the last 3 days pablo hasn’t been in a mood to move around nor eat. This morning I tried feeding him/her and i noticed that their eye was almost shut completely and it had like this white/clear coating? Im taking pablo to a nearby exotic vet but what do you y’all think it is?
P.s Pablo was in a better mood well kind but they ate 6 wormies & has been chilling in the same spot since. & No im not the actual owner of pablo its my partners but I love Pablo and I hardly know anything about chameleons. Seeing Pablo like this makes me worry as if it was my own pet. & I know how much Pablo means for my partner

You need a better vet. Poking it isn’t enough unless the bumps are also cleaned out. It’s almost certainly why the chameleon is having trouble with its eye.

Chameleon pus is like cottage cheese and poking the bump won’t let it come out on its own….if indeed it really is an infection.
It needs to be cleaned out and flushed. If it’s an infection, the chameleon needs to be given a course of antibiotics to get rid of it. A culture and sensitivity test of the pus would tell the vet which medication would be most likely to get rid of the infection,
an exotics vet should know all of this.

Regarding the sex of the chameleon, please figure it out or post photos of its heels so we can tell….it matters because there are different concerns with females than males.
How long have you had it?If its really as old as you say, then it’s likely female going by the size of its casque.

We may be able to help you find a vet with experience and knowledge of chameleons. We just need to know your general location.
