yeah speaking of "not staying put" my cham and i were soaking up some rays outside...and he decided he wanted to see what was in the plants below me...and became a sugar chameleon (like sugar glider)! jumped right outta my hands into the "unknown"...scary as heck...but hes fine and doin well!

My cham just fell about 4 feet. He got up like nothing even happened!

When I went to buy mine the dam idiot at the store droped him about 3 feet but he's fine now.

Lizards are designed to take falls. I had a 2 year old iguana take a 35+ foot drop from a tree onto my lawn ( I think it helped that the grass was a bit long since we hadn't mowed it) with no injuries at all. Chameleons can take a small 4 foot drop with no problem for the most part.

clair fell out of my hands about 4 feet on hard wood floors when i first got her. i thought she swas gunna die i was so scared. she didnt een care. she was walking as she was falling practically. and yeah my iguana about took a fall of the 3rd floor one time. lucky i grabbed his tail b4 he went over! why in the world would they do that? slip mabey?

Dont worry he is fine. I had the same thing with my panther chameleon Louie. He jumped down when I opened his cage to feed him . His fall was about 5 feet long. After all he was fine. Chameleons have special designed ribs for falling. So his fine.
