Chameleon Enclosure Quality

I have recently adopted a chameleon about 2 weeks ago and bought a starter chameleon set for him and I wanted to know what else I can do to the cage (picture should be included as attached file) to make his life better. Not included in the picture are the florescent and heat bulbs above the cage.

There should be a list up there that says live plant database in this enclosures and supplies forum that tells all the acceptable plants. Some I can think of off the top of my head are pothos, umbrella plants, ficus, hibiscus, jade plant, there are many many more.

You should check out the enclosure threads so you can maybe get some ideas. There are some really great pic's on there ranging from simple but does the job enclosures up to expensive but very impressive enclosures. It really helped me to see how others have their's set up. Until you are able to do that though a good place to start is getting the stuff on the bottom out. Its really best to not have anything on the bottom. Just a breeding ground for unwanted and even dangerous bacteria. And the cardboard gives me the impression that you might possibly have crickets in there all the time-if thats the case get them out. You never want to leave food in the enclosure over night. They can harm you chameleon while its sleeping. And they will also add unwanted bacteria if left in there. The cleaner the cage is the better chance your little guy stays healthy. Besides, they need gut loaded & dusted before he eats them anyway. And most importantly-welcome to the forum-you've come to the very best place to get your questions answered so your already off to a good start
