chameleon drinking habits

How do I look up previous posts on chameleon and their drinking habits? It seems lately my chameleon is very thirsty. Am I dusting the crickets too much or is it just too warm? They normally get sprayed several times in a day when someone is home or before we leave and when we get back. For the past 3 days he drinks every time he is sprayed whereas he he only drank sometimes. I mean he would drink but not all the time like this. He does have a dripper bottle its a zoomed so its the green one and he does drink from that. He is eating well so I don't know if I should be worried? The heat in the house stays around 70 to 72 degrees. We use ceramic heat emitters that have 50 watts and he does like to hang out on the top branch which is approximately 6 inches from the top screen. I should probably mention that our humidifier has been broken for a month now and I haven't replaced it as I cant find the same one we had now. I don't mind changing the method we use that's just what I learned when we first started living with chameleons. He is the only one who will ignore all feeders no matter how many days u leave them in there and only eat crickets.. although to his defense, I have seen him eat a dubia roach once.

What is your humidity and temp in the cage? They will drink more if the humidity is down. Mine drink less if its hornworm time, due to them just being bags of water.

I've got a bunch of comments, but don't want to waste your time if they don't apply. Could you fill out the form so we can see your setup? That would help a lot.
As for the quick answer, if you have the dripper available and he does drink from it, you should be fine. His urate should be bright white. Did you say 6 FEET from the top of the screen? Now I really want pictures! But seriously, what type of chameleon is this? Might change my answer a bit ;).

I think it is or is it inches the cage was actually set up for me and we used a book to do it. I will check the humidity and temperature and fill out the form. Yes his urates have always been white he is pretty regular and active when he chooses to be most times he likes to bask on that 6foot or 6inches branch. now.. off to find the form

Here is another post I just wrote about hydration and chams:

I should have also added this link about hydration by Dr Kenneth Lopez:

Very often in the wintertime, our indoor air is too dry and the chams don't have enough humidity in their air, either.
It's a situation that needs to be corrected for your cham to stay healthy.

Hope this helps you out.

Like others have said, if the humidity is down chams will drink more. You said your humidity gage was broken so this could be the reason. I would highly suggest getting a new gage. If it's not the humidity, I really could not image drinking like that would be a bad thing... Maybe a doc will chime in. Good luck
