Let's share some funny stories about our colourful friends!
In the summer I hang a fake plant in the doorway of my patio doors so Bert can get some sun. I guess I didn't open the curtain far enough and he used it as an escape route. In the past the doorway was blocked witha screen, so if he did leave the plant, it was to somewhere else not too far away. On this particular day, our screen was broken and not installed, so he took the opportunity to explore. I looked all around the usual hiding places, when I couldn't find him, panic set in. It took us about 15 minutes before we found Bert going to for broke down the fence in our backyard (about 15 feet away). When I walked up to him to bring him back inside, he was furious! Obviously, it was a good lesson learned; even though they seem to move slowly at times, they can really move when they want to!
My cat met Bert once, and instead of being scared, or stressed, Bert tried to climb on him and reached out to use him as a branch. I guess since he was all black, he thought he was a tree?
